Running Stories
Linda Fairbrother
What got you into running?
I initially started running over 18 years ago doing short charity runs.
I then stopped running due to having my daughter and only started back up again when my friend asked me if I wanted to start running with her.
As she was a member of Congleton Harriers, she asked me if I wanted to give one of their sessions a try. I said yes & and went along to my first ever run with the club which was an interval training session. I thoroughly enjoyed this session and signed up to the club. Since joining over a year ago, I now regularly run with the club twice a week and have found my running has improved massively.
What do you like about running with the club?
Everyone in the club is very friendly and no matter what your ability you are supported, and you feel part of a community!
Since joining the club, I have taken part in a number of races I would never have done before. I have achieved so much in such a short space of time, from running my first ever half marathon, getting a PB at parkrun and completing the Staffordshire Moorlands summer series with the club!
I have enjoyed every one of them with my favourite being the park run PB!
