This is the governing body for sport of athletics in the United Kingdom and often grants discounts to many running events.
Formed in the 1970 the association is affiliated to UK Athletics and acts as the Governing body for the sport of fell running in England.
You often receive discount at some races, for a full list of benefits check out their FRA Members section. If fell running is your thing this is ideal for you.
Our club normally runs a Summer and Winter competition for its members.
An individual series of races, complete 8 in at least 2-3 categories to qualify for an overall placing.

North Staffordshire Road Runners Association (NSRRA) Is an individual annual league consisting of 20 races in varying distance throughout the year.
Your best 12 performances count towards your score. You are categorised at the start of the year against your top 3 recent performances.
You then race against your ability group. In addition the league offers rewards not only for category but age group too. If you attend all 20 you even qualify for something special. Our very own Congleton Half is often included within the NSRRA programme.
The North Staffordshire Cross County League (NSCCL) Is a team event consisting of around 4 events over the winter period September through to December.
Usually Clubs would submit a minimum of 4-6 depending on which division your club finished in the previous season, the more runners the better your team odds. The number you finish is added to your team (top 4-6), the team with lowest over the series wins and promotes to the next division.
Great inter Club team event and competition and a great way to get involved in cross country.
Staffordshire Moorlands Athletics Club (SMAC) host the Summer Series.
An individual series of races usually around 10 from late May through to August held on Thursday evenings.
These are cross county/fell races in locations such as The Roaches and Shuttlingslow and often feature on our Club inter competition.
