Members of the Congleton Harriers Cloud 9 Hill race committee this week presented cheques totalling £559 to local charities and the National Trust.  The monies were raised as part of the recent Cloud Nine Fell race that was run a few weeks ago.

Suzi Roscoe made the National Trust presentation on top of the Cloud during a work day when volunteers were carrying out foot path repairs. Tim commented that the money would probably be spent on a new winch, as their existing one had broken beyond repair recently. Though not on this occasion, in addition to the above donation Congleton Harriers provide volunteers each year to undertake preservation works on the Cloud under a long-standing agreement with the Trust which allows them access for their race.

Elsewhere Harriers Race committee members also gave out cheques of £100 each to their three local nominated Charities: Congleton Food bank (The Storehouse), Astbury Mere Trust and East Cheshire Hospice (ECH).

The presentation to East Cheshire Hospice was joint affair, Leek United being one of the joint sponsors of the race and they are also a regular supporter of the East Cheshire Hospice.

Finally, on behalf of Congleton Harriers and the race committee he would like to extend his sincere thanks to all the race sponsors who help make the above donations possible.
